About 30 laptops were stolen from a local school just before the start of classes.
Springfield police were called to Clark Preparatory Academy to investigate an apparent break-in that occurred Monday night. They spoke with Principal Stefanie Page.
“Ms. Page stated she entered one of the classrooms and noticed that 29 Chromebook HP laptops were missing,” the report says. “Ms. Page then proceeded to check the rest of the building and found that an additional staff laptop, an HP Probook, was missing from an upstairs classroom.”
The Chromebooks were visible during an open house a couple days before the burglary, according to the report. No suspects were listed.
Page told investigators that all the doors and windows were locked, and that she had been the last person to leave the building the previous evening.
There were no signs of forced entry to the building, the report said.
Clark Prep started classes Wednesday.
