Severe weather cancels Summer Arts Festival event featuring hometown favorite

The Springfield Arts Council announced the Sunday night show featuring Springfield native Griffin House would be canceled because of severe storms.

The decision was announced about an hour before the scheduled 8 p.m. show, shortly after thunder, lightning and rain rolled into the area.

The 57th Summer Arts Festival is held outdoors in Veterans Park Amphitheater.

Due to severe storms we are CANCELLING tonight’s show (Sunday, July 2.)

Griffin House is an annual favorite when he returns home for the festival.

The festival resumes Wednesday with another crowd favorite, Resurrection: A Journey Tribute.
