Pizza delivery driver reports being robbed at gunpoint in Springfield

The Springfield Police Division is investigating an incident in which a man delivering food for Donato’s reported that he was robbed at gunpoint.

The incident report was filed by officers Thursday but the reported robbery was listed as taking place Monday night in the 900 block of Sunset Avenue.

A 50-year-old man reported that he was robbed while delivering a food order that totaled at $57.06. When the victim arrived at the delivery destination, an apartment complex, he was approached by an unknown man after noticing that there was no door handle on the entrance.

The victim said that he asked the man for help with the door. However, the victim stated that the man grabbed the food out of the victim’s hand and said “Not worth your life is it?”

The victim said that another male approached him from behind and pointed a gun at his head. The victim said that both males patted him down and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The victim stated that he was able to walk away after the food and money was taken from him.

The incident report filed by police stated that the victim was unable to provide a full physical description of the suspects.
