Springfield police are investigating another car wash theft that happened at a different Gold Water Car Wash on East Main Street.

Springfield police are investigating another car wash theft that happened at a different Gold Water Car Wash on East Main Street.

Springfield police are investigating a theft incident that was reported at Gold Water Services car wash, 1650 E. Main St., according to a police report.

Officers were dispatched around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday to the car wash in reference to a theft and damage to a vending machine.

When crews arrived, the victim said, “there was not much money inside the cash box, which was taken from a vending machine on the front, south side of the business,” the report says.

The victim then showed officers video footage of the incident.

“In the video, the suspect is a heavier set, white male with gloves, a full face mask and black hat (flat bill with sticker on it), to conceal his identity,” the report says. “(The victim) advised this is the same suspect in a similar incident at another Gold Water Car Wash in town.”

According to the report, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a Carhartt jacket and a black ball cap.

No other suspect information was available, and Springfield police continue their investigation into this incident.

Goldwater Services car wash on North Bechtle Avenue was broken into and burglarized on Jan. 30.

The two male suspects from that incident stole the vending machine money exchanger bin, a toolbox and various tools.
