TV, Nike shoes reported stolen in Springfield home burglary

Springfield police are investigating a burglary that was reported last week at a home on Catherine Street.

Officers were dispatched around 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, to the 300 block of Catherine Street in reference to a burglary, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who said, “her house had been burglarized while she was at work.”

“(The victim) stated that her Ring doorbell was plugged in to an outlet in her living room charging and recorded a male who appeared to be wearing a light colored hoodie enter the room before turning the doorbell camera away,” the report says.

The victim said her security alarm also alerted her that her bedroom window was open, which appeared to be the point of entry, the report says.

According to the report, a 75-inch Samsung television and six Nike Air Max shoes were stolen.

“(The victim) told officers that when she arrived home, her front and back doors were unlocked,” the report says.

No suspect or witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigation into this burglary.
