Glass window destroyed in Springfield restaurant burglary

A Springfield restaurant was burglarized over the weekend, according to a Springfield police report.

Olympic Coney Island, at 2039 N. Bechtle Ave., was the scene of a burglary, the report said. The front window was broken out of the restaurant, according to the report.

“On arrival the three feet by seven feet (front window) was broken completely out and there was glass on the ground outside and the floor inside,” the report said. “Underneath the third booth on the north side of the restaurant a small piece of concrete was underneath the table.”

The suspects took money from the store, according to the report.

“On the front counter of the restaurant the register drawer was open and all the cash inside was gone but the coins were left,” the report says.

There was also a cash box missing from the restaurant, the report says.

There is no suspect known at this time, according to the report.
