Showers, some heavy, moving through tonight

Isolated and small heavier pockets of rain will move through the region this evening, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Erica Collura said.

A few rumbles of thunder are possible. Temperatures will fall out from the lower 70s and through the 60s this evening. Scattered showers will taper later tonight and clouds will linger.

For Wednesday, look for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening hours. Temperatures will be in the lower 70s with more clouds than sun, Collura said.

A low-pressure system will arrive from the west on Thursday, bringing more rain with a thunderstorm possible through Friday. Temperatures will still be near or about 70.

Mother’s Day weekend isn’t looking too bad, Collura said. A few showers are possible Saturday and highs will be near 70. Sunday will be much cooler — comfortable for some with highs near 60 and sunny skies.
