UPDATE @ 9:30 a.m. (July 27):
A man found with a gunshot wound in Springfield was able to communicate with police before he was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, although he told officers he didn’t see who shot him.
“(The victim) could not provide any vehicle or suspect information stating that he didn’t see anything,” the report stated.

He did tell police that he was with other men and was walking in an alley with the intentions of smoking marijuana when he heard gunshots and felt pain.
“It was then he knew he had been shot,” the report stated.
The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by CareFlight, the report says. His condition is unknown Friday morning.
UPDATE @1:23 p.m. (July 26):
A man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in Springfield shooting Thursday afternoon.
The victim was awake and talking when police arrived, said Springfield police Lt. Jeff Williams.
The victim was found in the area of Selma Road and Todd Avenue. The shooting reportedly happened in the area of Eat Liberty Street and Tibbetts Avenue.

Police are responding to a shooting in Springfield.
The shooting was reported in the area of Reed and Todd avenues around noon today.

The victim is a male, but the extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
No one is in custody.
