Dayton man indicted for supporting ISIS; pleads not guilty

The Dayton man accused of attempting to provide material support and resources to ISIS has been indicted.

Laith Waleed Alebbini, 26, was indicted by a federal grand jury today. He pleaded not guilty to the charge in federal court Thursday.

Alebbini was arrested on April 26 at the Cincinnati/Kentucky International Airport and has remained in custody since.

“Attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization is punishable by up to 20 years in prison,” the Department of Justice said in a prepared statement.
