Fire damages South Charleston apartments

Multiple crews responded shortly before 4 p.m. to 400 Sunset Court, where a building with three apartments was damaged by flames.

The residents appear to have gotten out and are OK, according to the News Center 7 crew on the scene.

The owner of the building told News Center 7 that he got his family out of their middle apartment and alerted residents after seeing smoke coming from his daughter’s bedroom.

The fire caused significant damage to the building. The Red Cross was requested to help provide housing for eight to 10 adults, according to scanner traffic.
