Salyer was sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to escape by Clark County Common Pleas Judge Richard O’Neill. Givens will be sentenced on Nov. 14.

Salyer of New Carlisle was arrested on Aug. 5. Clark County Sheriff’s deputies began their investigation that day when an alert was sent that Salyer had escaped, an affidavit filed with the charge says.
“At approximately (4 p.m.) inmate Alisha Salyer had climbed the northeast corner of the interior fence for the trailers, Ms. Salyer then went over the top of the fence and attempted to climb down the exterior but fell on her way down possibly injuring her ankle.”
According to court documents, that’s when she removed her uniform and ran away.
Clark County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeffery Meyer said officers from the Springfield Police Division saw her walking but were unaware there was an inmate escape at the time.
Springfield police received a report of a car stolen from the Springfield Museum of Art around 4:25 p.m. Aug. 5 and Meyer said deputies believed it to be Salyer.

Deputies and officers began a search for her which ended at her home on North Church Street.
“Ms. Salyer was later found in front of her residence in possession of a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo black in color,” the affidavit says.
Givens was arrested Aug. 7 when she slipped off a pair of handcuffs and escaped from a Springfield police patrol cruiser. Givens was accused of stealing a purse and was caught almost immediately after running from authorities.
