TVs, game systems reported stolen in Springfield home burglary

Springfield police are investigating a home burglary were several electronic items were reported stolen.

Officers were dispatched around 1 a.m. on Friday to the 700 block of Garfield Avenue in reference to a burglary, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they spoke with two victims who said, “they left the residence around 5 p.m. on Thursday and returned just after midnight on Friday to find the back door open.”

“(The victim) said the residence had been ransacked and it appeared the back door had been kicked open, causing damage to the frame. The front door was still secure and (the victim) felt the suspect(s) left the same way they entered the residence,” the report says.

According to the report, a 32-inch Samsung Smart TV and PlayStation 4 were taken from one bedroom and a 32-inch flat screen TV, Xbox One with two controllers and JBL speaker were taken from a second bedroom.

No suspect or witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigation into this burglary.
