A Springfield man has been indicted after he intentionally rammed his car into a pregnant woman’s car after chase her, court records allege.

Jamaal Fleming, 37, of Springfield, was indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court for felonious assault. Fleming pleaded not guilty to the charge in Clark County Municipal Court in early December.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, the woman Fleming allegedly hit was driving to Horace Mann School to pick up her children with a passenger when she saw Fleming driving a silver Nissan Altima or Maxima.

“Mr. Fleming then rammed the rear of (the woman’s) vehicle, and then swerved around her vehicle stopping in front of her,” the affidavit says.

The woman, who was three months pregnant at the time, then put her car in reverse and drove backward on South Fostoria Avenue toward Mount Joy Street, the affidavit said.

“As (the woman) attempted to turn her car around to get (away) from Mr. Fleming, Mr. Fleming put his vehicle in reverse, smashing into the driver side of her vehicle, causing significant damage,” the affidavit says.

He is still listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail as of Tuesday morning.
