Springfield man accused of stealing $1,700 during robbery

A Springfield man is accused of putting a knife to another man’s throat and stealing his wallet.

Jeremiah Abston, 35, was indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court on a charge of aggravated robbery.

Springfield Police began their investigation on Oct. 27 when they were called to the 2000 block of Larch Street in reference to a robbery, according to an affidavit. There, they spoke with a victim who said he went to the residence to seek a missing phone. That’s when Abston allegedly invited the victim into his room and attacked him.

“(The victim) stated Mr. Abston shut the door, and then locked it,” the affidavit says. “(The victim) stated Mr. Abston pulled out a knife and put the pointed end of the knife to the front of his throat. (The victim) stated Mr. Abston said ‘I’ll kill you, I’m about to get violent up in here and kill everybody.”
