According to the statement, Clark County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Postal investigators conducted the controlled delivery on Monday after postal inspectors seized the package last week.
“The week prior to this operation, a package containing 20 individual bottles of 30 counts Alprazolam 2mg (Xanax), bound for 1642 Falmouth Ave. in the City of Springfield was intercepted and seized by U.S. Postal Inspectors,” the statement said. “It was discovered that several similar packages from the same return address had been delivered to this Springfield address over the past several months.”
Upon delivery of the package, the statement said, a male suspect later identified as Spell accepted the package and took it into the residence at Falmouth Avenue.
A search warrant was then executed on the house. During the search warrant, investigators located Spell, Mansfield and three children.

“Investigators were able to locate the delivered package, that had already been opened by the suspects,” the statement said. “The estimated street value of the recovered narcotics is $9,000, however, the retail price printed on each package was $732 to a total retail value of $21,960.”
In addition to the package with narcotics, investigators also located evidence of previous narcotic shipments, cash, additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia, the statement said. In total, investigators recovered 50 bottles (1500 pills) of Alprazolam 2mg (Xanez) with an estimated street value of $15,000 and retail value of $36,600, the statement said.
The investigation into Mansfield and Spell is ongoing, the statement said.
