Police: Springfield woman chokes husband’s girlfriend, hits car with baseball bat

A Springfield woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted her husband’s girlfriend and smashed his Cadillac with a baseball bat in a restaurant parking lot Wednesday evening.

Erica Jones, 44, was charged with one count of assault. She was scheduled to appear in Clark County Municipal Court on Thursday morning.

Jones’ husband and his girlfriend were having dinner at a restaurant on North Limestone Street, when the girlfriend went to the car to grab her cigarettes, according to court records. Jones met the girlfriend in the parking lot, allegedly grabbed her by the hair and demanded the car keys.

After the girlfriend refused to give the keys, police alleged Jones began choking and scratching the girlfriend’s throat. Jones also reportedly hit the woman with the car keys, according to court records, scratching her inner right arm.
