Crime Night will begin at 6 p.m. and run through 2 a.m. Saturday.
So far this year, OSP has made 140 OVI arrests, 31 arrests for drug-related violations and 26 felony arrests in Clark County.
Arrests
John A. Craig, 29, of 1623 Lagonda Ave., was charged with several weapons and traffic violations after a Springfield police sergeant witnessed the vehicle he was driving fail to yield to a Springfield Fire Rescue Division vehicle on an emergency call.
The incident occurred at West North and North Center streets about 10 p.m. Monday, after which Craig was stopped by the sergeant.
According to the police report, Craig had a stolen, unloaded 9mm handgun and suspected marijuana in the vehicle.
Believing he was intoxicated, police conducted a field sobriety test, which they allege Craig failed. He later tested at .212 in a Breathalyzer test at the jail.
He was charged with felony improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property and misdemeanor super OVI, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, using weapons while intoxicated and possession of drugs.
Craig is also suspected of stealing a rifle from a man he knows at his address about an hour before. But that weapon was not found during the stop, according to another report.
• Jerry R. Clifford, 35, of 306 S. Yellow Springs St., was ordered into court on a burglary charge after police say he admitted to burglarizing a friend’s house Tuesday in the 300 block of West Liberty Street.
Police say he attempted to take a television and game console valued at $1,000.
• Terena M. Parker, 41, of 1634 Kenton St., was charged with two counts of assault after police say she threw a bar stool and a bar glass, injuring a 28-year-old victim’s shoulder, during a fight at Ben’s Tavern, 346 Sheridan Ave., about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
She is also alleged to have punched a 23-year-old woman in the face.
She was also charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drugs and ordered into court.
Robberies
A 23-year-old man told police one of three men tried to stab him in the chest during an aggravated robbery about 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of South Wittenberg Avenue.
He was treated at Springfield Regional Medical Center for a four-inch laceration to an arm from blocking the knife and soreness in the back of his head, according to the report.
The man said another pushed him up against a wall and demanded money. The men removed $45 from his pockets and fled.
• Two males and a female are alleged to have kicked in the front door of a home about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Clifton Avenue and stolen an unknown amount of firearms and a cellphone valued at $100.
Each were wearing masks and gloves, according to a witness who was in the home at the time.
Assault
A 25-year-old man told police two male suspects entered a friend’s house where he was visiting in the 600 block of West High Street about 3 a.m. Tuesday and pointed a revolver at him, telling him he should not have called police the last time.
One of the males also reportedly punched him in the face and continued to assault him for about 30 minutes.
A female knocked on the door and told the men to stop or she was calling the police, but the men allegedly made her go in the house and sit on the couch where she and the male victim were held for another 30 minutes before the three men left.
The man had swelling to his face and cuts inside his mouth.
Thefts
• Two televisions, valued at $550, were reported stolen in a burglary in the 900 block of West Pleasant Street between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
• A power chair and several metal items, video games and controllers and appliances, valued at nearly $1,290, were reported stolen from a home in the 700 block of West High Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday.
• Two manhole box spreader bars, valued at $500, were reported stolen from a construction site in the 1600 block of Bechtle Avenue between 9 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Tuesday.
• Truck batteries, a heavy duty copper cable and a power saw, valued at $2,450, were reported stolen from Kapp Construction, 329 Mt. Vernon Ave., between 3 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
• A tablet computer, valued at $500, was reported stolen from a desk at Oesterlein Group Home, 1918 Mechanicsburg Road, between May 24 and May 25.
• An employee of Lo-Cost, 1053 Selma Road, told police he had cashed more than $2,200 in counterfeit checks between May 22 and 24 for checks were reportedly made out to Emerald Tree Company, Madison Tree and Landscape and Acer Services Corporation.
• A power lawn tool, television, game console and bicycle were reported stolen in a burglary in the 200 block of South Yellow Springs Street between May 12 and 13. The tool was later recovered.
• A tablet computer, valued at $700 and owned by Springfield City Schools, was reported stolen from an office a Lagonda Elementary School, 800 E. McCreight Ave., between April 30 and May 11.
• A saw, tree climbing equipment and a bag, valued at nearly $5,200, were reported stolen from an unattached garage in the 1100 block of Oak Street between May 3 and 7.
