Springfield police investigate reported burglary at home on East Third Street.

A Springfield home was broken into this week and thousands of dollars worth of items were reported stolen.

Police reposnded around 8:45 a.m. Monday to the 100 block of East Third Street on a report of a burglary into a residence, according to a police report.

When officers arrived, the victim told them that sometime between 5:45 a.m. and 6:10 a.m., someone got into this house and stole $1,350 worth of items.

“(The victim) went around to the front door and found it unlocked. He then looked around his house and discovered the items were missing,” the report says. “These items were in specific places throughout the house, and the house was not ransacked, so it appears as though the suspect may have known the location of these items.”

The items stolen include various pieces of jewelry, a Canon digital camera, a Youth Compand Bow, a red tablet computer, a pellet gun and a Samsung cell phone.

No suspect information was available and Springfield police continue their investigation into this burglary.
