A Springfield man is accused of using a knife to intimidate and eventually cut a woman.

Brandon Wilson, 28, of New Carlisle, was charged in Clark County Municipal Court with felonious assault. He pleaded not guilty and he was released on an OR bond.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office began their investigation Thursday morning, according to an affidavit filed in the case. Deputies said they were dispatched to West National Road in reference to a domestic situation stemming from a disagreement between Wilson and a woman over what a child should eat for dinner.

“(The woman) continued stating that Brandon started freaking out and she eventually made her way downstairs to get away from Brandon,” the affidavit says. “Brandon kept following her and then grabbed (the child) out of her arms, and then would not let her have the child. Brandon did this while screaming for hours. Brandon kept pushing his forehead into her head.”

A little later, as the woman was trying to lay the child down to sleep, she said Wilson became upset again. This time he had a knife.

“Brandon this time grabbed a knife and kept coming at her,” the affidavit says. “(The woman) then advised that is when Brandon put her into a headlock and pushed the knife to her and she pushed it away, and cutting her hand and Brandon then let go.”

The affidavit says Wilson forced the woman to drive him to the store to buy alcohol.

“(The woman) stated Brandon had choked her and she did not pass out…” the affidavit says.

Deputies were able to find Brandon and said they found the knife and could smell alcohol, the affidavit says. He was arrested at the scene.
