Man tries to evade state troopers with kids in car, crashes in Clark County

A man and two children were taken to the hospital after the man led Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a short pursuit that started on Interstate 70 and ended with a crash on state Route 4, according to OSHP dispatchers.

Dispatchers said that troopers noticed a vehicle speeding on I-70 at 6:16 a.m. and tried to pull him over.

However, the driver, who had his kids in the car, attempted to flee on Route 4 where he struck another vehicle.

Initial reports said that the driver had been travelling at a very high speed before crashing.

Dispatchers said that the driver and both children were being taken to the hospital to be checked.

According to troopers on the scene, the man was taken to Soin Medical Center, while the children went to Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Troopers also said that the driver had a warrant for a misdemeanor, although what the charge was was unknown, and that the driver may have been impaired.
