Man arrested in New Carlisle stabbing

UPDATE @ 1:50 p.m. (March 18):

A man was stabbed after he told deputies he called his alleged attacker to accuse him of stealing his money and cell phone charger, according to an incident report.

After the victim called the suspect, the suspect arrived at a residence in the 100 block of Orth Avenue, where a scuffle ensued leading to the stabbing, the report indicated.

Deputies arrested the suspect, Joshua Sanning, 27, for felonious assault and he remains in the Clark County Jail on a $15,000 bond, according to jail records.

The victim’s injuries were considered minor.

INITIAL REPORT (March 17):

Deputies are investigating a stabbing and assault this morning in New Carlisle, according to initial reports.

Investigators responded to the 100 block of Orth Avenue on reports that a stabbing victim was located at a residence there, according to dispatch records.

Initial dispatch records also indicated that an assault victim was located at a home in the 200 block of Rawson Drive around 11:30 a.m.

It’s unclear if the incidents are connected.
