De Graff man allegedly found in Springfield with stolen car, heroin

A De Graff man was arrested earlier this week after he was allegedly found driving a stolen vehicle with a bag of heroin inside, according to a police report.

Colt M. Scherer, 28, pleaded not guilty to charges of drug possession and receiving stolen property in Clark County Municipal Court on Tuesday. Bond was set at $5,000.

A bulletin was sent out for a stolen car on Monday afternoon. A trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol found the vehicle on Johnny Lytle between Fountain Avenue and South Limestone Street, according to a police report. The trooper followed the vehicle to Euclid Avenue where the allegedly driver got out of the vehicle and surrendered to troopers.

A search of the vehicle allegedly found a small bag containing a white powdery substance, believed to be heroin, the report said.

Scherer also had two outstanding warrants in Clark County, the report said. He remains in the Clark County Jail.
