District: Threat unfounded that evacuates Greenon school

A threat at Greenon Junior/Senior High School tonight that forced the evacuation of the building was unfounded, according to a district spokeswoman.

A custodian discovered vandalism at the school that included “a vague reference to a potential threat,” but the district did not specify what was threatened.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7 p.m. to the school, 3950 Tecumseh Road, which closed its doors and canceled all evening activities after the threat was found. Deputies searched the building and grounds but found no credible threat, and the incident remains under investigation.

A “One Call” alert was made to Greenon families about the incident, according to a district spokeswoman.
