$1,500 in valuables stolen from Springfield home

A $1,000 television and a gaming system were taken from a Springfield home while the occupant was visiting family, according to a police report.

Springfield police responded to a home on the 500 block of Rice Street where a man told police he left his home for a little more than three hours to visit his mother and came back to find his belongings were missing.

“(The man) advised when he went into the residence he saw that his television along with his Play Station 4 were missing from his television stand in the living room,” the report says. “After checking the rest of the residence he found that only those two objects along with the remotes to both were missing.”

It appeared that a blunt object was used to force open the front door, the police report says.

“At this time there are no known suspects and (the victim) advised he has no idea who would have done this,” the report says.
