The limited library services include:

  • Browse books, movies and other items to borrow
  • Copy, fax, scan and print documents
  • Limited computer availability
  • Limited staff assistance with tasks that don’t allow for social distancing and masks must be worn
  • Curbside service

Curbside printing and all other in-library services and activities have been discontinued while the library is open to the public, the website stated. Tables and chairs, toys, study rooms, meeting rooms and in-person library programs that encourage guests to linger or gather are not available.

Activities that require being in the library but are not part of the in-library services offered are also not allowed, including leisure reading, business meetings and eating.

The New Carlisle Public Library and Champaign County Library remain open with limited services, according to the library websites.

At the New Carlisle library, only 10 guests can be in the building at a time, only one public restroom is open, newspapers are now available, and computer time is limited to 30 minutes. One public restroom, drinking fountains, toys and computers in the youth area, and meeting and study rooms are not available.

At the Champaign County library, there is a 25 person limit at the main branch and a five person limit at the North Lewisburg branch, computer use is limited to 30 minutes and guests are encouraged to use the drive-up service.

Face masks, social distancing and using hand sanitizer when entering is required at all libraries.
