Warming center set to open in New Carlisle tonight

A 24-hour warming shelter is set to open in New Carlisle at 6 p.m. tonight.

The shelter will be at the First United Methodist Church, 220 S. Main St. in New Carlisle. It will remain available to the public through noon on Friday. The church can be reached at 937-845-8435.

WHIO StormCenter 7 calls for extremely cold temperatures Wednesday. Officials have warned everyone should stay indoors as much as possible.

A Clark County press release says officials are directing those in need of shelter to Interfaith Hospitality Network, 501 W. High St. The phone number is 937-325-8154.

“Residents who need warming during the day should seek shelter in public facilities, such as retail stores, libraries or the Clark County Combined Health District.
