The second clipper system in as many days will bring the chance of snow and rain today, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The fast-moving weather system is expected to bring snow after 10 a.m., with a chance of rain later in the day, around 5 p.m. Accumulation of less than 1 inch of snow is possible for most of the region, with more snow possible north of Interstate 70, which might see 1 to 2 inches of snow.

More snow and rain is expected to go into Monday night, all the way to Tuesday.

The morning hours will offer the best chance for accumulation, according to NWS.

The snowfall could result in slick roads, so motorists should be cautious today.

The high today will be 35 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. Winds will reach about 15 miles per hour.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 26 degrees. Tuesday morning may be at the “base of a large upper trough, with quick westerly flow in the upper levels,” the NWS said. A cold-front could be coming in from Tuesday to Wednesday with possible additional flurries arising due to incoming low pressure and colder temperatures.

Tuesday night will see partly cloudy skies with a temperature of 6 degrees.

Wednesday, the forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 20 degrees.

Wednesday night is mostly clear and has a low temperature of 10 degrees.
