Residents in West Elkton house not hurt when tree falls on it during storms

UPDATE @ 6:25 p.m.:  Two residents in the house in West Elkton were not injured when a tree fell on it during the storms that hit Preble County and the region late Friday afternoon, West Elkton firefighters said.

A woman was in a bedroom of the house on Main Street when the tree crashed into that room, said the woman’s aunt, Brenda McNabb.

“She was laying in the bed when it happened,” McNabb said of her niece. “The insulation fell on top of her.”

Another woman who lives in the house was “really shook up about it,” McNabb said of the tree and the storm.

Fire Chief Michael Roberts said the roof is completely caved in, but the house was not destroyed.
