Springfield SWAT team deployed outside southside house

A police presence, including a SWAT team, responded Wednesday morning to a house in Springfield on the south side of the city.

The house, located at the intersection of Southgate Avenue and West Southern Avenue, was surrounded by two SWAT vehicles and other patrol cars before 9 a.m.

A battering ram was spotted at the scene.

SWAT cleared the scene before 9:25 a.m.

We are working to learn more about the incident.
