A Springfield man died after being shot over the weekend in Springfield.

Deshon Benton, 34, was identified as the man killed in the shooting, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Multiple officers responded around 5 p.m. on Saturday to the 1200 block of South Center Street in reference to a shooting with injury, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they found Benton lying face down. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, the report stated.

There’s believed to be two suspects, according to the report, but no other information was available.

Springfield police are investigating this shooting as a homicide.
