Shooting at Springfield hotel under investigation after victim arrives at hospital

Crews are investigating a shooting Tuesday afternoon at the Quality Inn and Conference Center.

Initial reports showed that a victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, claiming he had been shot at the hotel at 383 E. Leffel Lane in Springfield.

The shooting happened sometime around 3 p.m.

Detectives and evidence collection teams blocked the parking lot of the hotel with police tape and were seen entering the hotel through the back entrance as they investigated.

There is no word on the victim’s condition, nor whether any persons of interest have been identified or arrested.
