Police investigate reports of naked man outside of Springfield house

Springfield police are investigating an indecent exposure incident that was reported Wednesday morning.

Officers responded around 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday to the 1800 block of Lexington Avenue on a report of a man coming outside naked, according to a Springfield police report.

A woman who lives in the area said the man “came outside of his house completely naked.”

“She stated that he stood at the side of his house nearest to her house. She stated that the suspect does this nearly every day,” the report said.

The woman said she babysits children and that eight children were in her home at the time of the incident.

Officers knocked on the man’s door, but there was no answer, the report said.

A short time later around 11:40 a.m., officers responded again to the same area after a couple said they were driving on Lexington Avenue and saw the same naked man, according to a second Springfield police report.

“They observed the suspect standing on the front porch. His pants were down, and he was (committing a sexual act),” the report said.

Officers knocked on the man’s door again and were able to speak with the daughter of the house owner who said the man was a friend of her brothers and that he was not at the house at that time, the report said.

No other suspect or witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigating into this incident.
