Poll on climate change

The winter we just put behind us included record cold for Ohio and much of the eastern part of the country in contrast to the record warmth in the West.

A new poll released by Gallup on Wednesday indicates that the 2014-15 winter season did nothing to change Americans’ beliefs about climate change, despite warnings by climatologists that global warming is creating extreme weather conditions, both warm and cold.

A third of all Americans believe climate change will either never happen or never happen in their own lifetime, which is what people said a year ago. In addition, 62 percent recently polled say climate change will never pose a serious threat to them or their way of life, and 42 percent say the media is exaggerating the news about global warming.
