Vehicle hits 2 houses and utility pole in Springfield

Two people were injured after crashing a vehicle into a utility pole and two houses on Lagonda Avenue this morning.

Police said the two injured people were inside the vehicle when the crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. in the 1000 block of Lagonda.

Investigators said no occupants of either house were injured during the collision.

An initial investigation by officers revealed the driver was traveling south on Lagonda when the vehicle crossed the center line and exited the right side of the road, police said. The vehicle struck a utility pole before hitting the two houses.

A cause of the crash remains under investigation and Ohio Edison crews were called to the scene to repair the damaged pole.
