I-70 eastbound lanes are now open after van caught fire

UPDATE @ 7:55 p.m.:

The eastbound lanes on I-70 have re-opened following a van that caught fire.

It is unknown what caused the fire, how many people were involved and if there are any injuries.

Medics are still on scene, according to Springfield OSP.

UPDATE @ 7:25 p.m.:

According to the ODOT site, I-70 eastbound between SR-235 and I-675 is still currently backed up.

The eastbound lanes are closed, and motorists should use an alternate route.

FIRST REPORT:

There is currently a van on fire on I-70 eastbound near mile marker 44, according to Springfield Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The fire is fully involved and there is black smoke in the air, per initial reports.

Traffic is also backed up on I-70 near 675, where ambulances are seen and smoke is shown, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation Real-time Ohio Traffic camera.
