Springfield bank robbed for the second time this month: ‘It was the same gun’

A Security National Bank on East Main Street in Springfield has been robbed for the second time this month. A 911 caller believes it was the same suspect.

The caller reported the suspect, who was described as a thin, white male, about five feet seven inches tall, wearing a black hoodie and a black and white face mask, got over the counter before taking money from two teller’s stations.

“I think it was the same guy that did this last time, it was the same gun,” she said.

No customers were inside the bank when it was robbed and no injuries were reported in the incident.

The suspect reportedly fled on foot from the bank and a K9 officer was called to the scene to track him.

There is currently no word on whether anyone has been arrested in connection to the robbery.
