How to ride the new Kings Island roller coaster Orion before its debut

You don’t have to wait until the official opening to try out Kings Island’s newest roller coaster.

The park will offer the Orion First Riders Event on April 9 as part of a fundraiser.

Kings Island said last week that the new coaster would open on Saturday, April 11, which the whole park’s opening day for 2020.

The first riders will be determined by fundraising for A Kid Again, an organization that works to “foster hope, happiness and healing for families raising kids with life-threatening illnesses through fun-filled group activities and events,” according to Kings Island.

Those who sign up and raise at least $150 by midnight on April 3 will be invited to the event. The very first ride will be taken by the top 32 fundraisers and others who attend who are chosen in an auction.

All who raise the minimum of $150 and attend will receive a certificate of participation, an Orion First Riders T-shirt, food and unlimited rides on this amazing new attraction.

Orion will be the tallest, fastest and longest steel coaster at Kings Island.
