Dorcey’s Flowers is expanding to Urbana and will celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony today.
The flower shop has a Bellefontaine location at 300 S. Main.
Instead of having customers drive to Bellefontaine, owner Kristie Herlong decided to expand to become more convenient.
“I do a lot of wedding flowers,” Herlong said. “A lot of my clients and a lot of the big venues are in that direction. So I just thought it would be smart to go ahead (and expand).”
The Urbana flower shop is offering flower bars on the weekend for people to come pick flowers by the stem and a full-service bridal shop.
Flower arrangement classes are also offered.

In late spring, Herlong plans to open a flower cafe and tea room in Urbana that will have french foods, breads, and teas.
Dorcey’s Flowers, 121 Scioto St. near Let’s Eat Cake, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The ribbon-cutting is today at noon.
