An assistant high school principal who was charged with OVI in December continues to work while the legal process goes through the courts.

Chad Mossing, 37, of Cedarville, wasn’t suspended and continues to work at Shawnee High School, according to Superintendent Gregg Morris. A police affidavit states Mossing blew a 0.13 during a breathalyzer test following an arrest by German Twp. Police.

Morris didn’t answer questions about Mossing’s employment other than to say the district is aware of the case and is keeping track of it.

“This legal matter has not been resolved and we continue to monitor the situation,” Morris said in a statement.

The police affidavit filed with the charges says Mossing crossed the centerline while driving an unspecified vehicle on Upper Valley Pike.

“The driver swerved to the right over the fog line and back into his lane,” German Twp. Police Officer Josh Perry wrote in the affidavit. “As the driver approached the turn onto State Route 41, he again went right into an adjacent lane, corrected back into the present land and then went into the left lane.”

Perry wrote that he pulled Mossing over and the assistant principal failed multiple field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He took the breathalyzer test at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Perry said.

Mossing’s attorney, Nathan Stuckey, declined comment as the case is still pending. Mossing’s next court date is scheduled for Jan. 26 for a pre-trial hearing.
