The two-story tree will have 5,000 lights and visitors can add their own ornaments as well as those provided by the New Carlisle city council (ornaments left will not be able to be returned). Complimentary candy canes and hot chocolate will be served.
The Tecumseh High School show choir will sing at 6:45 p.m. to set the mood with the lighting around 7, preceded by a countdown.
“Christmas is about focusing on things that matter like family and community,” said Councilman Ethan Reynolds. “This is a city where everybody knows everybody. It’s welcoming for friends and family.”
Enon
The action will center at the Enon Log House, 45 Indian Drive, where the Greenon High School choir will begin the festivities at 6:45 p.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive around 7, with a benediction and a community member doing the honor of lighting the tree.
Next up is a visit with the Clauses in the log cabin, where they’ll meet the children and offer candy, with free hot cider and cookies.
A longtime attendee, Enon Trustee Jim Kinnamon hears from grown-ups who came to the event as kids who now bring their own.
“It’s a heck of a good Kodak moment to look through the window and see Santa by the fire in the log house,” he said.
There will be a small gift shop with Enon items for sale as well as apple butter still available from the recent festival for $5 a pint.
