Dry, cool air moves into region

A much drier and cooler air mass moved into the area this morning, said Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek.

A light northerly breeze will accompany highs in the mid-70s today, cooler than the average high in the mid-80s. Plenty of sun, only a few clouds and zero chance of rain is expected today, he said.

Tonight, temperatures will cool down even more as a result of lower humidity. Lows will be in the mid-50s with some spots as cool as in the low 50s, Wirdzek said. Average lows are supposed to be in the mid-60s.

On Thursday, the area will see low humidity, plenty of sun and highs close to 80.
