Clark County Prosecutor Dan Driscoll said Kloecker was directly identified by his 49-year-old victim, making Kloecker the only suspect in the case.
The stabbing took place on Jan. 2 at the Fairfax Inn, located at 2418 E. Main St. in Springfield. The victim was found in one of the Inn’s rooms with multiple stab wounds around 7 p.m.

According to a Springfield Police Division report, the victim suffered multiple wounds to his chest, face and hands.
The victim, who was suffering from life-threatening injuries, was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, the report said.
Police at the scene that night said a dispute is what led to the stabbing. The attack began in the motel parking lot and moved to the parking lot of HD Transmission and Auto Repair LLC.
The next court date in the case has not been set. As of Thursday morning, Kloecker was not listed as an inmate at the Clark County Jail.
