A Springfield salon reported a burglary on Sunday.

Springfield police began their investigation when they were contacted by the owner of Headlines Salon, according to a police report.

“She stated that employees were at the salon last on July 5,” the report says. “Between then and approximately 10:20 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into the salon. A back door on the west side of the building was the entry and exit point.”

Headlines Salon is at 129 E. Main Street in Springfield.

The report says it appears that the suspect pried on the doorknob and frame, causing damage to both.

“The deadbolt was engaged, so the suspect broke out the door window in order to reach in to unlock it. Once inside, the suspect took a window A/C unit that was mounted in a wall on the west side of the building.”

Springfield police were able to take pictures of the damage and were also able to collect evidence at the scene.

No one has been charged in the case but police are still investigating, the report says. Anyone with information may contact Springfield police.
