Gregory S. Helsel, 45, of 419 E. Southern Ave., was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and placed in the Clark County Jail. He was charged with one count of aggravated menacing, according to a police report.
The victim told police he was moving into a home nearby this weekend and his neighbor had been giving him trouble about parking in the alley. The victim was helping someone into the residence when a friend told him a female neighbor was upset about parking, the report said.

Helsel then walked out of his back door carrying a black semi-automatic handgun, put one round in the chamber and told the victim he would shoot him if he didn’t get off of his property. The victim walked to the front of his property as Helsel continued to threaten him and then called police, the report said.
Helsel admitted to walking outside with the gun, but told police he never threatened the victim. Officers located the gun inside the home with one round in the chamber. Witnesses confirmed the victim’s story, the report said.
Helsel told police the men were on his property and he had a right to defend himself. Officers told him the alley is not his property, the report said.
