Springfield man robbed by six men at apartment complex, report says

A Springfield man was robbed by six men with guns as he attempted to go to a friend’s apartment on Saturday evening, according to a police report.

The man went to visit a friend’s apartment in the 900 block of Sunset Avenue at about 9 p.m., the report said. As he entered the apartment complex on Sunset Avenue, the man saw feet under the stair well and then three men hit him in the back of the head with a handgun. Three more men came out of an apartment with guns and began to assault him, the report said. All six men were wearing hoods and the victim was unable to get a good look at the suspects, he told police.
