Springfield couple jailed following drug raid

A Springfield husband and wife are in Ohio jails following an FBI raid at their home Friday.

The raid was conducted during the early morning at 1017 Summer St. in conjunction with a federal indictment against Gregory Workman, according to court records.

He and seven other men from Columbus, London, Scioto and Trumbull counties are charged with one count each of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, according to the federal indictment unsealed following their arrests by U.S. Marshals on Friday.

His wife, Donna Workman, 46, was arrested by Springfield Police following the raid and is charged with two counts of child endangering.

She was babysitting two young girls, who asleep in a bedroom during the search.

“Inside the top drawer of the nightstand officers located multiple hypodermic needles, several burnt spoons, narcotics, a razor blade and pieces of drug residue,” a court affidavit says. “Also located in the residence were several pieces of equipment used in the manufacturing and distribution of illegal narcotics.”

Donna Workman pleaded not guilty to the child endangering charges Monday morning and had her bond set at $10,000. She remained in the Clark County Jail on Monday afternoon.

All eight men arrested on the drug charges are in the Delaware County Jail. Gregory Workman, 50, has a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday in federal court in Columbus.

•Richard Glenn, 34, Portsmouth.

•Kent Whiteside, 31, London.

•Timothy W. Mutter, 56, Franklin Furnace.

•Trent Banks, 46, Bloomfield.

•Jonathan Nunez, 26, Wheelersburg.
