Police: Springfield car shot about 15 times

Springfield police are investigating an incident that left a car parked on Scarboro Street with about 15 bullet holes.

Their investigation began when they were called to the scene in reference to possible shots fired.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a black 2008 Chevy Tahoe parked alongside the northbound curb,” the report says. “Officers observed the vehicle appeared to have had approximately 15 rounds fired into it. Officers observed seven spent shell casings north of the vehicle and three spent projectiles in and around the vehicle.”

The officers asked neighbors if they knew what happened but none of them were able to provide information, the report says.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing, according to the report.
