Joseph Baylor, 43, was arrested last night on an outstanding warrant and arraigned this morning. His bond has been set at $10,000.
On June 23, a speed monitoring plane spotted a motorcycle allegedly speeding on westbound Interstate 70.
According to an OSP report, a trooper on the highway got behind the motorcycle and tried to stop it. The rider took off and exited onto Ohio 72 northbound, turned around at a gas station then went back to I-70 at a high rate of speed.
The officer stopped the pursuit when speeds reached 140 mph, according to the report.
The rider was later identified as Baylor, who is the registered owner of the bike, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. STAFF REPORT
Disabled man reports rape
A developmentally disabled Springfield man reported that a male family friend raped him Sunday afternoon.
According to a Springfield police report, the victim was visiting a family member when the family friend forced him into a bedroom and forced him to have sex. It’s the second time the suspect had done it, the victim alleged.

3 arrested in recycling center break-in
A man and two teen males were taken into custody early Monday morning on several charges stemming from an alleged break-in at Cohen Recycling, 1000 block of James Street.
According to a Springfield police report, Darnell L. Thomas, 24, of 1514 W. North St., and the two juveniles broke in and attempted to steal about $100 worth of copper piping between 12:30 and 1 a.m.
Thomas was placed in Clark County Jail on charges of breaking and entering, resisting arrest and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Thefts
A laptop computer, game system, digital camera and jewelry, valued at more than $960, were reported stolen between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday during a home burglary in the 900 block of Pine Street, Springfield.
A television, valued at $2,200, was reported stolen about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday during a home burglary in the 300 block of Sherman Avenue, Springfield.
A central air conditioning unit, copper piping and a dehumidifier, valued at $3,550, was reported stolen between June 10 and Monday from a vacant home in the 1400 block of Albemarle Road, Springfield.
