Springfield police are investigating a shooting that was reported Friday at the Town House Motor Lodge, 2850 E. Main St.

Man shot at Springfield motel no longer listed as hospital patient

A man who was shot in Springfield early Friday morning is no longer listed as a patient at the hospital.

Officers were dispatched around 12:35 a.m. on Friday to the Town House Motor Lodge at 2850 E. Main St. on a report of a man shot in the stomach, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they found the man near a room with a gunshot wound. They were also able to find a spent .380 shell casings on scene.

The shooting victim was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center for his injuries and was later flown to Miami Valley Hospital for further treatment, the report said.

As of Monday morning, the victim was no longer listed as a patient at the hospital, according to a hospital spokesperson.

According to the report, the suspect is believed to be a man who is 5-foot-9 with tattoos all over his arms.

CRIME: Medical helicopter called for Springfield gunshot victim

No other suspect information was available and he remains unidentified. No witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigation into this shooting.
