Bellefontaine man killed in Friday night rollover crash identified

A man killed Friday night in a rollover crash in Logan County has been identified.

The man was identified Timothy Lykins, 68, of Bellefontaine, according to a Logan County Sheriff’s Office crash report.

Lykins crashed in his 2002 Dodge Dakota around 7:25 p.m. on County Road 54 north of state Route 274, according to the crash report.

Lykins was traveling south on County Road 54 when he crossed the center line, went off the left side of the road, reentered the road, lost control and rolled over, the report stated. He then went back off the left side of the road, rolled again, and came to a rest before being ejected.

Lykins was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner’s office.

Both the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Indian Lake EMS responded to the crash.

According to the report, Lykins was not wearing a seatbelt and neither alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

There were no other vehicles or occupants involved in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
